The Search for God groups were started by ARE with people meeting face to face to work through the Edgar Cayce Spiritual Development Programme. In many parts of the world, it is not possible to meet face to face and we are hoping that by using our wonderful internet technology, we may provide a place of a rich and nourishing learning and support.
There are four basic tools in the ARE Study Groups (ASFG 1, p143). These are (1) Study of ASFG material. Some of this is in the boards below. (2) Application of weekly projects, also will be in the boards below. (3) Daily Meditation (4) Daily Prayer.
Books. The Search for God books 1 and 2 may be purchased from the A.R.E. web site or from Amazon. However if you do not have the book, please still join us as we have posted the main quotation for the chapter on the boards and threads below

Edgar Cayce's Spiritual Development Program had its beginning at a challenging time in Edgar's life. He had just lost the hospital founded to apply the healing programs given in individual's readings, and based on the deeper understanding of what causes our fall from perfect health into illness. Edgar was asked (in trance) How can we give LIGHT to the waiting world?" The answer was "You must become the LIGHT". On September 14th 1931, the first of 130 Readings - the 262 series - was given to guide seekers in "becoming the LIGHT". In 1977 Cayce's son Hugh Lynn stated "In my opinion, in time, this material will reach more people, and do more good than any other data which he gave." Anyone who becomes a member of the Association for Research & Enlightenment - See www.edgarcayce.org - has free access to all of his readings. In my experience with this material, I would like to share the following concepts:- 1. The Search for God material is NOT about teaching some dogma, but about people expanding their knowledge through sharing their ideas and experiences with others. 2. I think of it as imagining a faceted jewel (symbol of a subject) & a circle of people viewing it. Each facet being a symbol of seeing the subject from each person's unique perspective. 3. I have personally had my mind opened to many different ways of looking at many ideas, through listening to others describing their personal perspective on it. Mind expansion! Its great! 4.This program differs from simply "gaining knowledge" to the wisdom of :" Its not what you know, but what you DO about what you know, that makes a difference to yourself and consciousness evolution on planet earth."

I think that Olives description of the Cayce programme is excellent. Thank you Olive. I especially like the idea that it is not what we know, but how we use the knowledge. I think that this forum is a place where we can put some of our knowledge into action and also get ideas from others as to what actions we can take.
